Dior stages a quiet rebellion at Paris men’s fashion week

The city enters its 11th week of riots tomorrow at the hands of the gilets jaunes protestors, but at Paris men’s fashion week, Dior’s Kim Jones staged his own quiet revolution. The spectacle and scale – not to mention the screams as various A-listers swept in – might have had some Parisians fretting the affray has come early, but this was a brewing storm of a different sort.

As Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and David Beckham looked on, Jones staged a “static” show in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, models gliding down a moving conveyor belt as a nod to the genteel couture salon presentations that Monsieur Dior staged back in the day.
