Exclusive Abbie Scott interview: 'I don't want to be average

As a teenager growing up in the Lake District, Abbie Scott was brimming with so much ambition that she pitched her parents, Richard and Libby, a business plan in order to move to a fee-paying school.

The youngster was determined to fill her potential both at sport and academically, although she always harboured dreams of a career as a professional athlete, she also had thoughts of studying law. Scott set her heart on Sedbergh College, the famed rugby nursery and alma mater of Will Carling and Will Greenwood.

Although, she attended just for sixth form and there was yet to be a girls’ rugby team at the school, the experience shows the sort of tenacity that would lead the 25-year-old to become one…
