Father visited by police after Facebook joke about feeding baby hot sauce

A father was visited by police after he joked about accidentally feeding hot sauce to his newborn son in a Facebook post.

Paul Dawson, 39, said he was upset when two officers from Cleveland Police knocked on his door in Stockton following concerns for his baby.

The barber explained he was out with his partner, Laurencia Wood, 21, and their five-day-old baby Ben at a TGI Fridays branch when the incident took place.

After Ben was fed, Mr Barber wiped his hands on a napkin and took hold of his son to allow Ms Wood to eat her food.

He later placed a knuckle in his mouth to pacify him, but forgot he had eaten chilli, which caused Ben to pull a “funny face”.
