George Michael's personal art collection goes up for auction, with works from Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin

He’s one of the most influential recording artists of all time, known for seminal 1980s and 90s hits like and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and Faith  – and as a campaigner for LGBTQ rights – but the late George Michael was also a prolific art collector.

Now the British singer and songwriter’s collection is set to go under the hammer in a huge auction comprising more than 200 lots.

The flagship auction will take place at Christie’s on 14th March alongside an online sale, which will be open for bidding from 8 – 15th March. With key works including a number of the Young British Artists, who he also counted as friends, estimates range from £400  -£1,500,000.
