With his team so desperately lacking in urgency and direction, Parker introduced Floyd Ayite at half-time in a bid to break Leicester’s dominance.
It paid off, just five minutes into the half. Ben Chilwell was caught out by Ayite on the right and he advanced into the area, with his shot taking a deflection off Harry Maguire and squirming over the line.
It was Ayite’s first goal in over a year and finally, Fulham seemed to grasp that they are in a battle for survival. In the 68th minute Kasper Schmeichel produced a fine save to push away Aleksandar Mitrovic’s header, and it proved a pivotal moment.
Vardy pounced 12 minutes from time, racing onto Maddison’s pass before beating Sergio Rico, adding another in the 86th minute with another neat finish after good work from the excellent Harvey Barnes.
