Kadeena Cox and Jonnie Peacock return to British team for World Para Athletics Championships

Double Paralympic champions Jonnie Peacock and Kadeena Cox will make their international comebacks at the upcoming World Para Athletics Championships after returning from reality television forays into the ballroom and farmyard.
Both athletes only began competing again earlier this year having taken a break following their world title-winning exploits in London in 2017. Peacock followed his gold medal with a stint on Strictly Come Dancing, while Cox was a contestant on Celebs On The Farm this summer.
November’s event in Dubai will mark their return to the international stage as they look to defend their world titles ahead of next year’s Paralympic Games.
Paula Dunn, head coach of British Athletics’ programme, said she is happy to support her athletes taking time away for other activities as long as they still deliver on the track.
“If they are able to do that and manage the sport, I totally understand that their career as an athlete is short,” Dunn told Telegraph Sport. “So as long as they can fit it in.
