A couple from Northern Ireland who won the £115m EuroMillions jackpot on New Year’s Day have said it will be “so much fun” to give away, as they go public with their fortune for the first time.
Frances and Patrick Connolly, who live in Moira, County Down, became the fourth biggest UK EuroMillions winners when they matched their winning numbers to scoop the £114,969,775.70m draw.
The parents of three daughters have written a list of 50 family and friends to share their money with- most of of whom are still unaware of their jackpot prize.
The lucky pair’s identities were revealed at a press conference just outside Belfast on Friday.
Frances Connolly said: “This is a massive sum of money and we want it to have a huge impact on the lives of other people we know and love as well as on our future too.
“It is going to be so much fun giving it away. The pleasure for me is going to be seeing people’s faces.”
Her husband Patrick Connolly, 54, added: “I’ve got a wonderful wife, a wonderful family and wonderful friends, so this is the icing on the cake.”
