Magpie reared back to health turns on children after being released to wild

A magpie nursed back to health by a father and daughter has repaid its rescuers by reportedly attacking children after returning to the wild.

The bird, named Lucky, was saved from the brink of death last year and had been cared for by Garry Bickmore and his daughter, Miya.

After being reared, Lucky became very friendly towards humans and ended up as a mini celebrity in her home town of Penzance, Cornwall.

But a petition has now been set up to re-home the bird, as Lucky has reportedly started attacking the neighbourhood’s children.

The appeal, entitled ‘Stop Lucky the magpie’, is addressed to Cornwall Council and the media.
