Newport County have been told to beware the “Jim Bowen affect” in Tuesday’s FA Cup replay against Middlesbrough.
The winning side will host Premier League champions Manchester City in the fifth round and that would, of course, represent one of the biggest ties in the League Two side’s history.
But manager Michael Flynn insisted he is not “thinking about Man City even one bit”.
“This could end up like Bullseye – Bully’s special prize, look what you could have won,” Flynn added, evoking the memory of Bowen, the late quiz show presenter.
“You start getting carried away and you see the boat floating off, and you end up with a rubber dinghy.”
