An 88-year-old woman was left with a broken nose and shocking bruising after her handbag was snatched in a daylight robbery.
The elderly victim, who has not been named by police, was walking with her husband on Colonel Stephens Way, Weston-super-Mare, when she was target at 1.50pm on January 10.
The suspect grabbed at her handbag with such force that the pensioner fell to the ground, suffering a broken nose, fractured wrist and severe bruising, police said.
A picture of the woman, whose arm is in a sling, was released by Avon and Somerset Police in an effort to track down the perpetrator.
Her assailant is said to have run down an alleyway leading to nearby Oakford Avenue, where the handbag was later found with cash and a bank card missing from inside.
