Wolverhampton Wanderers are close to agreeing a new contract with midfielder Romain Saiss, in another boost for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Morocco international Saiss played a key role in Wolves’s FA Cup win over Bristol City on Sunday and is expected to officially sign his deal later this week.
Wolves captain Conor Coady and influential wing-back Matt Doherty both committed their futures to the club last week and Saiss, 28, will become the latest star to sign on when the players return to training.
Saiss was a crucial member of Nuno’s squad last season when the club romped to the Championship title, making 42 league appearances.
He was also a hero at Ashton Gate on Sunday, producing a crucial clearance in added time as Wolves hung on to reach the quarter-finals.
