Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
PS4, Xbox One, PC
Soulsborne creators From Software return with its latest creation. Sekiro’s make-up is a little different for the games that made the studio’s name. Where Souls and Bloodborne are full-blown role-playing-games with different classes and progression, Sekiro is an action-adventure focussing on its shinobi hero: the enigmatic one-armed wolf. Rather than the hulking knights of Souls, you are a nimble swordsman able to take to the rooftops and disappear into darkness.
But while there are distinct differences that make Sekiro a fresh proposition from its stablemates, it inherits their fundamental values. A ferocious challenge based on intense swordplay, a gorgeous but terrifying world and a unique approach to death and rebirth that looks to toy with video game convention.
