Not that we’ve paid much attention, mind. According to The Sleep Council, citing a survey of 5,007 adults, 70pc of Britons now sleep for under seven hours a night (seven hours is on the lower end of what a healthy adult should get). Over a quarter experience poor-quality sleep; while, in the three years up to 2013, the survey stated the number of people living on five to six hours sleep a night rose dramatically.
