A woman has been stabbed to death by a fellow motorist who got out of his car and knifed her in broad daylight, police have said.
Surrey Police officers were called to London Road, Ewell at 3pm after residents and fellow motorists raised the alarm.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the death after leaving the scene.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder while a second man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Local resident Emma Summers tweeted: “Can’t believe someone has been stabbed virtually on my doorstep.”
One neighbour, living near the scene, said: “It was outside my house and the area is completely cordoned off.
“I wasn’t allowed to go through my front garden – I had to go around to get into my own house. The police are outside and they are waiting for the forensic teams to arrive.”
She added: “I’m not allowed to say much – but the body was out there for some time.”
